• Stitched up. Use a pretty ribbon, a piece of twine or a strip of leather to create a Kris-cross effect at the top of your tress. You could get really creative and create an intricate weaved pattern with two or three little ponytails within one.
• Curly girly. A slick shiny ponytail which ends in a cascade of bouncing curls is always a way to achieve a guaranteed head-turning effect. And it is really easy too. All you need are some hot rollers or curling tongs... ET voila! Curly confidence in minutes!
• Portion control. Use pretty bands, leather strips or stylish clasps to make a single ponytail took as though it is separated into different bits. This is a really easy way to make your hairstyle appear intricate, when it is really not!
• Feminine touch. Why not treat yourself, and accessorize with something really special? You could weave real flowers through your braids along with tiny sparkling diamante clips to really catch the eye. If you are feeling slightly funkier, try things like feathers and beads.
• Shine on! Dazzle your companions with some high quality hair glitter. If applied evenly, the halo effect can give your hair an unmatchable lift. But be warned the glitter may stay in you hair for a while, so dont be tempted to use it the night before an important business meeting!
• You have come a long way baby! Add temporary extensions especially for the night. These are quite expensive, but good extensions look really natural. If you are looking for prom queen style attention, this may be the way to go. It guarantees attention!

The proper face wash should make your skin feel fresh and soft, stay away from a face wash that makes your face feel oily.

Before you begin to wash your face you should always wash your hands with an anti bacterial soap. Using warm water splash your face to prepare it for the cleanser. Next, put an appropriate amount of cleanser on your hands (usually a few squirts from your bottle will do) and then gently rub the cleanser on your face. It is important that you do not rub your face harshly or it might become irritated and may lead to redness or acne. Rub it softly and gently so the skin beneath the cleanser does not move much. After rubbing your face with the clean for thirty seconds wash your face off with water. Dry off your face with a towel by patting it gently.

When washing your face do not use washes that contain beads in it. Other things to look out for are loofahs and other harsh scrubbers. The process should be gentle and leave your face feeling refreshed.

It is important that you do not over wash. Your skin produces natural oils and if you wash too often it will lead to over production of these oils and can lead to acne. Washing your face two to three times a day is the appropriate amount. After a matter of a few weeks you should begin to notice increased softness in your skin.

Model Shoot Tips

A professional photographer wants your images to be the best they can be. After all, her/his reputation and source of revenue is tied to the shoot. Since this is a team effort there are a few things that you, as a model, can do to help make the shoot a success.
1. Be on time. Always. This speaks volume about your reliability. If an emergency arise be sure to call ahead before the scheduled shooting time.
2. Striking different poses with the same facial expression and body position does little to enhance your portfolio. Spend some time in front of a mirror learning and developing a variety of facial expressions and poses. You may want to consider studying the expressions and body language of the top models in your field for examples and ideas. If you are just starting out your photographer will be able to share ideas with you.
3. Make sure you get a good nights sleep earlier to the shoot. Try to schedule shoots as late in the day as possible to avoid going to photography session with puffy eyes. Bags under the eyes may be reduced with certain types of firming make up. Consult a make up artist for recommendations.
4. Your normal diet should include the daily recommended consumption of water. This alone will add greatly to the look and healthiness of your skin.
5. We all can appreciate those models that prefer to wear as little make up as possible. However, a number of photographers prefer to have a make up artist and hair stylist on the set, although this is not always possible due to the pricing package the model has chosen. If you are scheduled for your first photo shoot you may want to consider the following especially if a make up artist is not going to be present:
a. If you leave all your other make up at home never go to a photo shoot without a facial or transparent powder. The freshly scrubbed face will undoubtedly present undesirable highlights on the nose and forehead. If you are intent on the natural look you can find a clear powder that will tone down the highlights (consult your makeup artist for recommendations). There is only so much your photographer can do with high key lighting and you certainly do not want your images to project a shinny or oily looking skin.
b. A matte look can make a big difference in the quality of your headshots. Use a solid foundation evenly blended well into the neck area to help avoid changes in skin colors.
c. You may also want to consider a lighter shade eye shadow to avoid the raccoon look. A lighter shade gives a satisfying appearance of bringing the eyes forward rather than the unflattering deep set appearance from a darker shade.
d. Be sure to carry your hair brush, hair spray, and/or gel to the shoot. Keep hair and jewelry accessories small. Hair styles can make a dramatic difference in a model's look. A large number of upscale hair stylists now have the computer software where they are able to use your picture and show you on screen the styles that best compliment your features. Most makeup counters at larger department stores schedule free makeup lessons. The majority of makeup artists and hair stylist are available for studio sessions with advance notice at their going rate.
e. If possible try to limit the wearing of sunglasses at least a week prior to photo shoot in order to reduce the "squint". If you wear contacts are sure to carry your case and solution in the event that you need to take them out.
